Remarks:
  1. Interest rate mark up for checking account up to +1.38% p.a. is only applicable to daily" Total Relationship Value" of HK$1,000,000 or above (entitled to interest rate mark-up of +0.1% p.a.), and a special interest rate mark-up +1.28% p.a. in first three months after account opening month. The interest rate will not be capped by one-month HKD fixed deposit board rate or one-month Hong Kong Interbank Offer Rate (HIBOR) of MEVAS Bank in the first three months after account opening month. Interest calculation is 365 days for HKD accounts. Starting from the first month after account opening month (from the first working day) until the third month, customers can enjoy a special interest rate mark-up at +1.28% p.a. MEVAS Bank reserves the right to amend the special interest rate promotion at any time without prior notice.
  2. Total Relationship Value" plan will automatically calculate an "Integrated Relationship Value" for you by summing up all the balances of your accounts with MEVAS Bank, including deposits, investments, loans, credit cards, mortgages and cash value of insurances. Simply maintain a daily average "Total Relationship Value" of HK$1,000,000 or above and your MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account will automatically earn an extra 0.1% p.a. interest rate during the subsequent month. The interest rate is capped by one-month HKD fixed deposit board rate or one-month Hong Kong Interbank Offer Rate (HIBOR) of MEVAS Bank, whichever is lower. Such interest rates will be applied to the MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account in the first working day of the following month.
  3. Customers maintaining every HK$50,000 average daily balance in first 3 months after of account opening month can enjoy HK$50 cash coupon. Eligible customers can enjoy a maximum of HK$500 cash coupons. Customers maintaining every HK$50,000 average daily balance in fourth to sixth months after account opening month can enjoy another HK$50 cash coupon. Eligible customers can enjoy a maximum of HK$500 cash coupons. During the Promotion Period, customers who open a MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account are entitled two redemption letters. Customers, please bring along the original copy to any branches to redeem the cash coupons. In case of loss / damage of the redemption letter, no replacement will be issued. Cash coupons will only be delivered to customers who fulfil the above requirements. If it is a joint account, the offer will only be applicable to one person.
  4. The brokerage fee is 0% only for online securities trading within the first one month period from the Security account open date (with a maximum transaction amount cap at HK$10 Millions). The Securities Brokerage Fee Offer is only applicable to customers who open a new MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account during the Promotion Period and maintain a securities account with MEVAS Bank. The offer is applicable to all transactions of stocks listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, which are processed through MEVAS Bank i-Securities Services. Customers are required to pay the brokerage fee upfront (0.25% of the transaction amount, minimum HK$100). The waived amount will be reimbursed to customer's securities settlement account within 2 months after the period of brokerage waives. Customers should maintain the relevant securities account, the settlement account and the MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account on the reimbursement date.
  5. Securities custodian fee waiver applies to customers holding a valid MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account.
  6. The offer only applies to customers with first-time subscription of any designated investment funds after opening a MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account. For subscription amount of HK$50,000 equivalent or above, the investment fund’s initial sales charge is 2%; for subscription amount less than HK$50,000 equivalent, the initial sales charge is 2.5%.
  7. The offer is applicable to customers who subscribe investment funds with amount of HK$10,000 equivalent or more per transaction. The maximum fixed deposit amount is the subscription amount of investment funds. The fixed deposit must be new funds (for definition of new funds, please refer to remark 17). The interest rate for subsequent renewals of fixed deposits will follow the prevailing interest rate offered by the Bank.
  8. Please contact any MEVAS Bank Branch for enquiries on the Investment Fund Savings Plan offer within the Promotion Period.
  9. Welcome Offer Free Spending Credit is only applicable to MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account Holders who successfully apply for MEVAS Principal Credit Card within the Promotion Period. Each new Principal Cardholder can enjoy the offer ONCE and this Welcome Offer is not applicable to those who have ever hold/cancel MEVAS Principal Credit Card in the past 12 months. Applicants who successfully applied for MEVAS Platinum Principal Card is entitled to HK$200 Free Spending Credit. The Free Spending Credit will be credited into the Principal Cardholder’s account within 6 or 8 weeks from the card issuance date and the Principal Cardholder’s account must be valid and in good standing. The Free Spending Credit can be used to settle new transactions only. The Free Spending Credit is not transferable, refundable and not for cash withdrawal. Customers who have enjoyed the Free Spending Credit offer are not eligible for other Welcome Gift Offers. If Principal Cardholder cancels his/her new MEVAS Credit Card within 13 months from card-issuance date, MEVAS Bank (the Bank) reserves the right to charge a handling fee of HK$200 from the relevant Principal Card Account without prior notice.
  10. Special approval of Platinum card is only applicable to customers maintaining a net assets average amount equivalent to HK$250,000 or above (the "Required Amount") at the Bank. The average Required Amount will be set at the Bank's sole discretion and the calculation method is subject to the Bank's policy as determined from time to timeat its discretion. The Bank reserves the right to make the final decision on credit card approval without providing reason.
  11. MEVAS Principal Credit Card holder can enjoy first 3 years annual fee waiver. Thereafter, respective customers can still enjoy the perpetual annual fee waiver only if customers maintain valid MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account. If customers terminate a MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account for any reason, the perpetual annual fee waiver will be discontinued with immediate effect and without further notice.
  12. Grant Lucky Draw only applies to those newly open MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account customers during the promotion period and also choosing our bundling banking services/products (Including Investment products, loan products, insurance products, deposit and credit card). Each successful open/choose 1 product/service, 1 chance you can get. More products/services you choose; more chances you get. The announcement of Lucky Draw result will be held on 12 January 2009 and the winners will be noticed by MEVAS Bank branch staff. .
  13. Member – Get – Member Program only applies to existing MEVAS Bank customers (“Referrer”) and who must successfully refer friends/relatives (“referee”) open MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account with HK$200,000 or above initial deposit by new funds (for definition of new funds, please refer to remark 17) and also maintain the respective deposit at MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account for one month or above. The referee must not have MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account in the past 6 months. Every referee can only be referred once.
  14. The calculation of the daily average balance includes the balance of MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account, the deposit balance of other HKD / foreign currency deposit accounts and fixed deposits, Investment Accounts (including the latest market value of Investment Funds, Bonds / Notes, Securities and Investment Savings Plan and deposit/ investment amount of Structured Deposits, Callable Target Deposits, Currency-Linked Premium Deposits and Equity Linked Investment) and cash value of Life Insurance accounts. The account holder(s) of the above-mentioned accounts must be identical to that of the MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account.
  15. If customers hold more than one MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account, the no-bounce cheque / autopay protection interest will be applicable to only one account (subject to Bank’s decision). Daily accrued simple interest at MEVAS HKD prime rate plus 5% p.a. will be incurred in no-bounce cheque / autopay protection, and is posted to the account on monthly basis.

  17. The above promotional offers are valid for customers who fulfil MEVAS Plus High Interest Rate Account opening requirements with new funds. The new funds are defined as fund newly deposited at MEVAS Bank using a cheque drawn on other bank, inward CHATS or T/T during the Promotion Period. For clarification of the definition of new fund, please contact the Bank staff. In case of any disputes in relation to the definition of new fund, the decision of the Bank shall be final.
  18. MEVAS Bank makes no representation or guarantee as to the quality and availability of the products provided by the suppliers of the gift items/cash coupons in this promotional campaign. The Bank shall bear no responsibility or liability whatsoever with regards to any matters arising from or in connection with the products provided by the suppliers.
  19. The usage of coupons is restricted by suppliers’ terms and conditions.
